Real Hair Extensions vs Synthetic Hair Extensions
There has always been a lot of debate about whether real hair extensions are better than synthetic hair extensions. The truth is that there are pros and cons to both, so let’s take a closer look.
The most obvious point in favour of using human hair instead of synthetic for your extensions is that it will always look and feel more natural. You can also change colour more easily, dye it and cut it as it acts just like your own hair.
On the other hand, human hair extensions sometimes require a little more TLC and attention than the synthetic option. You are going to need to watch what products you use although you can use curlers and straighteners with no hassles!
How To Colour Match Your Hair
A lot of people worry about whether they are going to be able to match the colour of their natural hair to their new extensions. But don’t worry because we’ve got you covered, Babes!
The first thing you need to do is to take a photo of your hair. You need to keep it as natural as possible, so that means no filters, no artificial lighting, and no flash. We need to see exactly what it looks like!

After reviewing your pictures our Colour Matchmakers will tell you exactly the shade you need. Now you can buy the perfect RiRis to match your hair colour.
How To Attach Human Hair Extensions
Now that we’ve got your colour sorted, it is time to put those extensions in. The great news is that with RiRis, adding extensions couldn’t be simpler. Here is our five-step guide to attaching your extensions.
First, you are going to need to part your hair. Do this horizontally across your head so that you have a clear line to work with. Don’t worry, you can always start over!
Next, take your RiRis and make sure that the clips are open. You are going to need to slide them into your hair, and carefully find the place where you want to attach them.
Ok, it is time to attach those RiRis. Once you have them where you want them, pop the clips closed. When this has been done, the RiRis are secured in place. Take a breath!
Once the clips are in, let your hair down gently. Check to ensure that you are happy with where they are placed. Next, brush your hair very lightly. Don’t put too much pressure on them as you may have to start over!
That’s it! It’s time to start enjoying your new hair extensions. The process of attaching them is nice and easy with our RiRis, and you can feel fabulous in no time.
What About Clip-In Hair Extensions?
Clip-in hair extensions are probably the easiest way to add length and volume to your hair. There are many different options available, but if you want to look great quickly, they are the best option.
A lot of people out there will tell you that you need to go through a long and complicated procedure to have hair extensions that look great, but our RiRi customers love what they can do with our premium hair extensions.
Difference Between Sewing, Glueing, or Taping Hair Extensions
You do have different options when it comes to putting in hair extensions, and the three most common are sewing, glueing, or taping. There are some key differences between them which we’ll go through with you now.
Sewing in hair extensions means using the method that we have discussed above. Taped hair extensions are, as the name suggests, applied with tape. They can last for up to eight weeks if you take good care of them.
Glueing hair extensions is also known as fusion, and these can last a lot longer than other types as well as looking natural if you get it right. However, this option is expensive, and you do run the risk of damaging your hair.
How To Care & Maintain Your Human Hair Extensions
Once you have your hair extensions in, you will be looking and feeling fabulous. However, you need to remember that the work isn’t over yet. You need to make sure that you are looking after those human hair extensions.
One of the most important things to remember is that you need to treat your hair extensions as carefully as you would your own hair, if not more so. Your first step should be thinking about the kind of products you should be using. We have plenty of options to choose from.
Try to make sure that you do not leave your hair extensions wet for too long, and especially avoid sleeping with them while still wet. They will get tangled, and that can be difficult to fix!
It is always a good idea to minimise the amount of heat-related treatment to your hair extensions, too. You should also look at using shampoos and conditioners with no alcohol or sulphates to keep them from drying out. If you have any questions, just get in touch! We’re always happy to advise on hair care.
I have fine hair, can I still use real human hair extensions?
You absolutely can still use real human hair extensions if you have fine hair, but the best thing to do is to talk to an expert first. We can help you find the right fit for your specific hair type to make sure they are durable and natural.
What are Remy hair extensions?
The main thing to know about Remy hair extensions is that the cuticles are kept intact, and they go in the same direction. They are more expensive because the process of making them is more difficult.
Are human hair extensions ethical?
The short answer to this question is yes, as long as you make sure that you get them from a good supplier. There are unethical human hair extensions on the market, but any good stylist will be sure to use ethically-sourced ones.
What are micro loop human hair extensions?
Micro loop hair extensions are easier than micro ring hair extensions because they are easier to thread, using a copper ring that hair has already been attached to. However, the extensions are harder to maintain and care for.
